"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honour's the servant and has forgotten the gift."- Albert Einstein
Not so long ago I came across the quote and I must say it hit me so hard that it kept going through my head like a worn out record. I gave up and gave him (the quote) my attention. I started from looking for the definition of intuition and this is what I have found in Cambridge Dictonary : "Intuition: an ability to understand or know someting immediately based on your feeling rather than facts." At that very moment I knew why I had to submit to him, this is the topic I was looking for ( I mean for my blog) nothing comes to us without a reason.
Intuition is endowed in every person, but it doesn't mean that we all use it to the same extent. We were not taught this at home or at school, that's why most people cannot distinquish intuition from thoughts. I remember that thanks to yoga and meditation I have learned to conect to my body, my heart and inner voice. These wonderful, daily practices help to cut off the flood of thoughts and too much information coming at us from every direction. We are unable to hear our own voice and therefore connect with intuition.
We cannot hear the inner voice if we are detached for the present moment. When we think about what was, we are not in the present and intuition exists only in the now/moment .
Scientists who conduct reasearch on intuition has noticed that there are neurotransmitters in the intestines. So if you have a hunch that is accompanied by fear, you will feel it in your stomach. For example, when talking to a new person observe whether you feel tired and exhausted or on the contray, a surge of energy and joy. If contact with a person is not beneficial for us, intuition will inform us about it in every possible way.
Intution often appears in the form of unexpected flashes. Suddenly we simply know. This knowledge is however fleeting therefore is it worth wrting it down as soon as possible. After sometime it may turn out that this was very valuable.
Unfortunately intuition is pushed aside as we grow up. The more we listen to others who tell us what we should do, how to live and what to believe in, then more our inner voice become weaker. That is why we should slowly introduce yoga, meditation and relaxation techniques to our children so it will help them remain themselves and above all they will be able to protect their emotions and precious energy.
Thank you for being here with me, hope you are going to find this useful.
Lots of love
